Last year, Tickle Me Elmo was the hot toy for Christmas. This year, they introduced Elmo Live. Can people make a profit by scalping Elmos this year?
What’s New?
* Elmo actually speaks as his mouth opens and closes just like the real muppet, Elmo, from Sesame Street.
* He waves his arms, sits and stands, even crosses his legs.
* Tells stories and jokes, singing songs and playing games.
* Head bobbles back and forth as he speaks.
* Children can activate the magic with a tickle or a squeeze of Elmo’s foot, tummy, back or nose.
Right now, Elmo Live runs for $60 + tax at major online retailers like Amazon.com. From my research, Fisher-Price has increased their supply to meet the demand this season (probably why there are still in stock). Whether this supply is sufficient to meet the demand, we have yet to tell. However, my guess would be they will probably purposely cause a supply shortage. Otherwise, Elmo will now been known as a toy that didn’t sell out for Christmas and thus, decreasing the demand of the product the following season. It’s all hype. Nevertheless, I watched the video of this Elmo Live in action and I’d have to say, if I was kid, I’d want it would be top of my Christmas wish list.
Conclusion: Use the live.com’s 25% cashback opportunity to scoop up these Elmos on Ebay. Worst case scenario, you sell them for 25% cost depreciation and come out even. My prediction says you’ll be able to sell them for at least $60 each and end up keeping that 25% for gas.
