Kanye West 808s & Heartbreak (Album) – My thoughts..

kanye west 808Kanye West does it again with his album 808s & Heartbreak. He seems to always have a new style to his music which I applaud him for. These days, artists seem to be spitting out the same rhythms, beats, and lingo without trying much. A lot of artists will buy the beats, buy the lyrics, and just sing what was given to them after they’ve made it. This is definitely an album I would purchase and I usually purchase one a year.

My favorite songs on the album are:

  • Amazing
  • Heartless
  • Welcome to Heartbreak ft. Kid Cudi

When I was listening to the Heartbreak tracking, I was cracking up when it kept repeating “Los Angeles Lakers” in the background.  Not sure what Lakers has anything to do with the song but Jerry Buss must have paid a lot of denero for that inclusion.

As for the music video for Heartless, I thought the “animation” was crap.  I like “idea”.  It reminded me of Eminem’s Mosh and Britney Spear’s Break The Ice. But the video looked like it was done by students at a community college.  KW could of got much for what he probably put into that video.  The video doesn’t do the song justice.

The ten-time Grammy Award® winning musical phenomenon, rapper, producer, and now singer embarks on a new musical journey taking his audience to new heights. Kanye West returns with his fourth album 808s & HEARTBREAK. His highly anticipated new album set for release on November 25th, featuring the heart pounding first single LOVE LOCKDOWN which premiered live for the first time on the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. LOVE LOCKDOWN quickly exploded at radio with the video premiering nationwide on the Ellen Degeneres show. “Heartless,” the second single, is next up to hit the airwaves further amplifying the story behind the musical direction for 808s & HEARTBREAK.
